Santa Monica is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Santa Monica follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Came in for lunch and was completely turned off, The chicken avocado sandwich looks appealing, but the grilled chicken was so dry it was unedifying, I also tried the scrambled eggs, which were poorly made - honestly, I can cook better much at home.. To make matters worse, there were tiny flies buzzing all around the dessert shelves, For a premium bakery, the lack of basic food quality and hygiene is unacceptable .. Skip this location ..

Haven’t been here in a while and I thought I would bring a couple treats for a friend. I got a gluten free cupcake and a slice of the triple berry cake. The frosting on the cupcake tasted off. The berry cake was not as I had remembered and definitely not worth $13.50 for the slice. The display case and the packaging is nice but that’s where it ends. It seems like the quality has gone downhill. The Asian man working at the counter was not very friendly either. He kept asking “Anything else? Anything else?” I almost felt bad adding the cupcake to the order. It’s not like there was a big line behind me? I felt uncomfortable in the store. I pressed print receipt on the kiosk and it printed out, he got it and crumpled it up. I had to ask the other man working there if I could get my printed receipt. Just very odd. I guess I’ll stick with Susie Cakes. I’ve always had friendly customer service there. I’m not going to go back here again because of the poor unfriendly service. Also very strange to have a sign that says if you are paying in cash you must use exact change- WHAT? Haha. Kind of wild…

This is a hard one to write but it feels necessary… as a baker myself I have high standard when it comes to buying a cake from outside the house and SLJ has always hit the mark. I can’t remember a birthday between like 2010 and 2020 that I didn’t cut into a SLJ cake or I didn’t pick one up for someone else’s bday. It’s always been the perfect cake that’s a crowd pleaser. Unfortunately, the past 3-4 times I have ordered the triple berry cake or stopped by the store to have a slice, it’s tasted off. The cream isn’t what it used to be and the cake lacks flavor and moisture. It looks the same, but the quality is just not there. I keep ordering it and stopping by for a slice out of habit, and I’m disappointed every time and end up tossing the box after a couple bites. I’m so sad because I have such fond memories with that cake and the bakery, but I don’t think I’ll be trying it again. This all said, I think for someone who doesn’t know what it used to taste like, they might be totally fine with it and think it tastes fine. It just tastes noticeably different to me. So so sad. Hope they can get back to where they used to be with quality. Adjust the price if they need to but you’re going

Great cakes, beautiful colors and options, nice selection of cookies and great atmosphere, nice tables outside some inside sitting area. I took espresso, was great flavor of a coffee. A place to stop for a sweet stop in any day.

We were looking for a great dessert spot after celebrating my daughter's birthday dinner, and this place was perfect for picking up a small cake to enjoy back at the hotel. We arrived right as they were closing, and I felt a little bad, but the employee was incredibly kind, smiling, and patiently answered all our first-time visitor questions. I was very impressed by the setup! They have a cute photo zone by the entrance and a refrigerated area specifically for picking up custom orders. I also noticed the seating area set up on the street. It made me wonder if it bothered passersby, but considering the overall Santa Monica vibe, I think this place manages to blend great taste with a cool atmosphere.
